Due to a disastrous miscommunication between the manager and the produce guy at our local supermarket, my dad and I got a GIANT bag of cherries for $.50 the other day. About 5 lbs of bright red, juicy deliciousness. I experienced not one ounce of guilt when turning a large chunk of those little beauties into what you see above. A rustic french cake/custard called a
clafoutis. I happen to think this is one of the most perfectly simple desserts ever, and it's even better for breakfast. Yum.
