And you know what else I love? Dirty Dancing. What girl doesn't? One of my coworkers said she had never seen it, and I literally gasped in horror. Anyway, the Glamour blog posted this video earlier and I almost peed myself laughing. It features Channing Tatum (swoon) and Charlyne Yi in a Dirty Dancing spoof.

Mmmmm Channing Tatum
I have loved Channing Tatum for quite some time. I mean, just LOOK at him!

5 States In 14 Hours
Today was an incredibly long day. We dealt with insurance and got a rental car (PT Cruiser! Holla!).
We got everything settled and were on the road by 11. Traveled across 5 states, got stuck in traffic for an hour behind a truck that was on fire, and got lost on back wood roads throughout Southern Illinois and Kentucky. Oh, and we ran over a raccoon.
After 14 slightly painful hours, we finally made it to Nashville.
The picture is from the high point of our day. We stopped in Kansas City to visit Hammerpress. Coolest shop ever. Beautiful screen printed work, and an old letter press. Stunning. I'll post pics of the goods maybe tomorrow. Until then, I need sleep.

Road Trip Fail
While driving through Topeka last night, searching for the freeway, we were in accident. Neither of us was injured, just basic bruises and aches.
So now we are continuing our journey in a rental car. A PT Cruiser. Yeah. Awesome.

Welcome to Kansas
Drove through the state of Kansas yesterday, and it was incredibly beautiful. I felt the need to gulp up as much clean, fresh air as humanly possible.
We also stopped and saw the World's Biggest Ball of Twine. Because we're awesome.
More on our Kansas adventure later!

Greetings From Colorado Springs!
The Garden of the Gods might be my new favorite place.
Also, I've decided I need more mountains in my life.

Road Trip!
Tomorrow morning, I'm leaving work and heading to DCA where I will hop on a plane to Colorado Springs, CO. There, I will meet up with my lovely friend Sarah, and we will begin our journey back to VA. It should be a fantastic adventure, and I will do my best to post some pictures from the road.
Our itinerary includes a stop at the World's Largest Ball of Twine, a night in Kansas City, a brief stint in Nashville, a drive through Cherokee country where we shall feed live BEARS!, a night with Victoria (we'll coo over her pregnant tummy), and a stop in Richmond. Great fun, right?!
My trail mix is packed, and we are ready for the open road. It should be a fantastic adventure, and I will do my best to post some pictures from the road.

Dear Zachary
Tonight, instead of sleeping, I watched Dear Zachary. You need to watch this movie.
It is thought provoking, beautifully filmed, and completely heartbreaking. I cried for no less than 2/3rds of it. The documentary opens when Andrew Bagby is murdered, and you go on to find that his suspected killer is pregnant. With his child. The baby's grandparents engage in a grueling custody battle with their son's murderer, and it's just as painful as it sounds.
So yes. Go watch it.

*le sigh*
I want to talk to you everyday. It's not because I'm clingy, or think you don't care anymore if you don't call.
You calm me.
You make me feel safe.
You make me laugh, and you challenge me.
When we talk often, you feel closer. And that, my dear, is why I want to talk to you as often as possible, for as long as possible. I like getting those little pieces of you.

Oh, NUTS!
I am in love with NutsOnline. Why? Well, because I'm addicted to their wasabi soybeans. Not to mention the million other delicious things they have on their site. Oh, and the fact that they ship and deliver incredibly fast. And their veggie chips are deceptively good.
If you find yourself needing something random and delicious, go to them. They probably have it.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I spent a ridiculous amount of time at work this week; six 12-hr shifts in seven days. Let me tell ya, I am completely worn out. Unfortunately, I am truly terrible at sleeping.
I know people that can fall asleep anytime, anywhere, and that is just never going to be me. I've accepted it. Sleeping just is not one of my powers. Oh well...

My Very Worst Date
This site acts as a forum for people to share the stories of their, well, very worst date. I giggled through half the entries. It kept my night from being entirely sucky.

In The Realms of the Unreal
I watched this documentary last night instead of sleeping. It's all about outsider artist Henry Darger.
He was a janitor in Chicago, and it wasn't until he died that people discovered all of his work. It's not the best documentary ever, but it was still really interesting. Check it out.
